			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>lesson began with a brainsorming excercise where the class told the student teachers what they new web 2.0 to be&#8230; the student teachers then explained to them what the actual definition was and how it was used.</p>
<p>web 2.0 is the 2nd level of internet.. where the internet used to just consist of an administrator publishing data and the rest of the world could access this data. now days any user can have his or her sa in the publication of information or other various webpages. the web has become interactive and this notion of sharing has come alive.</p>
<p>the class encountere some technical difficulties howver managed to keep the lesson going through some clever improvising and skiping to another part of their presentation and then returned to the video at the conclusion of their presentation.</p>
<p>the class was then instructed on how to create a wikispace wher information can be published by anyone and the whole world can then access this information and make annotations or lrterations with ur permission.</p>
<p>the idea of web 2.0 was reguarly visitied and the idea of sharing was reinforced through the excercise as we were communicating wih one another from our computers in the classroom and publishing information for our various allocated topics </p>

<p>modelling: is an investigative technique which uses a mathematical or physical representation of a system or theory to test for effects that change in a system componants may have the overall functioning of the system</p>
<p>Simulation: computer simulation is the dicepline of designing a model of an actual or theorectical physical system, exicuting the model on a digital computer, and analyzing the ecicution output</p>
<p>teachers: a lot of content<br />
questions supply hard content after task<br />
team work appropriatly used because of level of content and level of previosly unknown knowledge<br />
no one new about this program so alot of resource time was needed..<br />
everyones played  simulation games but no one knows thats what they are called</p>
<p>all of these computer simulation represent real life but eliminates the boundaries of actual possibility .. such as money laws of physics and transporattion&#8230; often they represent things in real life that make things easier for us or things that we are not able to easily do in real life.</p>

also zoetrobe creation</p>

<p>the lesson was constructed in such a way that it was engaging and interactive although the topic was quite &#8216;dry&#8217;</p>
<p>thee were some problems wth software usabiltity&#8230; mac compared to PC and the worksheet was not as thorough as it could have been.. ammedndments would need to be made for a real classroom situation..</p>
<p>time limit for tasks was very short considering the amount of content coveredand it was quite easy to get lost and help was not always provided. </p>
<p>for ths lesson to work for the target audience of year 8  the lesson would need to be simplified and even spread over a couple of joined lessons. the teachnig needed to be slowed down so all could follow.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Content</strong> </p>
<p>This presentation included many things relating to the creation of the Wiiremote Interactive Whiteboard. The class included an outline of the interactive whiteboard and how one can be easily produced at minimal cost. A demonstration was given of a Wiiremote whiteboard in action that had been produced by the student teachers. componants were handed out to construct a pointer for the whiteboard and background information on the function of interactive whiteboards and how this substitute is 80% of the solution at 10% of the cost.</p>

The interactive whiteboard</ul>
<p> Students watched a video on the interactive whiteboard in action and were then explained the deatils of the componants and how these are used to simulate the effects of an Interactive Whitebaord that would otherwise costs thousands of dollars, but could now cost 5-10% of that cost. Practicality, however was discussed and suitability in the classroom with setting up and availability of resources. It is a minor solution to a problem one may encounter in a classroom. But it is important to mention that it is not new technology only the application and the materials used are new.</p>

Pointer</ul>
<p>Students were given certain materials to come up with their best solution for a pen to use on the whiteboard. the theory behind infrared lighting and the infrared receiver in the Wiiremote was explained.<br />
The pointer created contains an infrared LED attached to a double a battery which is reflected back onto the Wiiremote and the signal is sent to the computer. Every signal sent to the computer is configured to be the actions of the mouse instructing the computer what to do.</p>
<p><strong>Teaching Strategies</strong></p>
<p>Both Student teachers were very involved in the instruction of building the pointer pen for the interactive whiteboard. Students were sent away for several minutes to construct their pens in groups and then asked to test them on their computers. this method worked very well for student involvement. </p>
<p>As students were admiring their creations the teachers began explaining the theory behind the wiiremote whiteborad and showed some media on the creator of the idea. </p>
<p>Once the whiteboard was set up students were then able to test their pens and the function of the whiteboard in front of the class, creating a very memorable and exciting lesson for all involved.</p>

<ul>
Podcasts</ul>
<p>A method of publishing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription.<br />
Podcasts are also a very useful tool in teaching as much information can be sourced from reliable podcasts easily accessed on the net. </p>
<ul>
Blog</ul>
<p>Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site.<br />
Blogs can be used by students to keep a diary or journal of a process they have undertaken in a design project or related task. These can be viewed by teachers to ensure that students are submitting their own work and are undergoing a process rather than a night-before job.</p>
<ul>
Wikis</ul>
<p>A website where users can log on and add/edit information regarding a topic or discussion or fact that they might have expert knowledge on. a collaborative response to the subject area or term can result in a far superior definition if used correctly.</p>
<p><strong>Teaching Strategies</strong></p>
<p>This group used a very funny and exciting video as an introduction to their presentation. The introduction achieved its goal in gaining the attention of the entire class, unfortunatly i feel with such an explosive beginning it is somewhat difficult to maintain this momentum in this kind of circumstance where the students are going to be learning something knew and are going to have to be quite and focused. The video however was appropriate for the focus group and the  lesson quite easily followed due to careful planning and each of the teachers continual involvement in the teaching of the content. </p>
<p>The content was also taught in such a way that as students we are able to go home and reproduce this work at home, on our own computers. however as a group of four there was a lot of content to cover and each teacher only briefly touched on these topic rather than an in depth discussion on perhaps just two of the topics.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This Presentation on Digital Documents included plenty of information regarding what exactly a digital document is, a basic tutorial on editing techniques used in photoshop and how to create a PDF document.</p>
<p><strong>Teaching Strategies</strong></p>
<p>The presentation was given by myself and two other students in the class. Together we planned a lesson that encouraged students to follow a step by step booklet that we each contributed to and printed off for all of the students to follow.  This particular teaching method proved very beneficial for the students in getting them to follow along with demonstrations that were happening at the front of the class on the projector by either me or one of my colleagues. The students were able to read on the paper in front of them which step they were up to as well as pictures and snapshots of what they were to be producing throughout the lesson. If the students got lost for any reason they were able to quite easily look up which ever step they may have gotten lost on, and continue on with the class.</p>
<p>One-on-one teaching was used during this lesson and was a very important part of ensuring that all students followed the content and did not get lost. Myself and my colleagues continually circled the classroom ensuring that all students were following and that know one struggling too much with the content.</p>

<p>What is a digital document?</ul>
<p>Digital Documents are documents that are stored on a computer and can include word documents, spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations etc. They are referred to as electronic documents and differ from regular documents s they are not material. Digital documents are stored in any type of computer storage medium (disc, hardrive etc)</p>
<p>PDF&#8217;s were also covered in the presentation and demonstration were given on how to create PDF&#8217;s and the benefits. PDF stands for Portable Document Format and its main purpose is to maintain the integrity of a document. this means that the document once saved in PDF will not be altered and cannot be altered by another user. All fonts and alignment will remain the same no matter what platform and errors are unlikely to occur.</p>
